Another great one from Rick Reilly: http://sports.espn.go.com/espnmag/story?id=3930609
He’s right, athletes need to understand the effect that they have on kids, and need to act as role models instead of as thugs. Maybe others can learn from Elway.

I found out that I can now easily post while on my iPod Touch… so basically, I can post to this whenever I want. This was just a test, I’ll have a new post coming in a day or two.

Kinda weird, I don’t know how the sun would charge the panels while they are in your pocket, but it’s a pretty cool idea…
Report: A-Rod tested positive in 2003
Another steroid accusation, another big name in sports. This time, it’s Alex Rodriguez. Honestly, I’m pretty disappointed. I don’t really think much of the guy at all anymore. As one of my friends put it, he’s been a douchebag without the steroids. Leaving his wife for Madonna, not being about to do anything in the clutch, not being a team player… this just adds to it. I thought he at least worked hard (which he probably did), but did he really need performance enhancers to do what he was capable of doing? I’m a firm believer in the idea that if one works hard, he/she will get what she wants out of life for the most part. At least realistically. So, to see these talented people cheating and getting millions of dollars and tons of fame to do so really beats down that idea. It’s preaching to kids that you need to cheat to be really successful, and it’s truly sickening. Thanks a lot Alex…
People are pissed about Joe Torre’s new book (which I would really like to read), but really, why should they be? Because he’s telling the truth? I know he’s breaking the sacred “clubhouse code” but we need to understand the crap that Torre had to put up with when dealing with all these diva superstars. I think Joe just wants people to realize how he had been portrayed as a bad guy when he left and that he was giving up the best job in the world, when truly he was giving up the opportunity to be a babysitter to these grown men making over 20 million dollars per year just to play a kid’s game.
The name ‘A-Fraud’ is looking more and more valid now, isn’t it?
Mother Goose and Grimm always cracks me up… most of the comics are very simple but I think they are pretty clever. Here are two recent ones for you.

Found both of these on the archive on http://www.grimmy.com (Official site for Mother Goose and Grimm comics)
Have a great Super Bowl Sunday… I’d like to see an upset today, but it really doesn’t matter to me cause Big Blue isn’t in it this year.
